2018 September to November 2018
Week 1, Meet up and Introductions who are we?
Introduction was on the 6th floor. To generate interest, and it was fun. We did simple discussion of the simple environment. There are a lot of barries of entry.

Week 2, Discussion about Pandas, Requests, and BS4 for the use case of Web Scraping.
Python and Web Scraping on the 2nd floor. We had a smaller group. We wanted to discuss Python and how to extract
data off websites. A lot of interest, but no environment set-up.

- Explain more thoroughly.
Week 3, Mailing List creating using Pandas.
We worked on attempting to make a mailing list text information. The idea was to gather information from the e-mail list that was generated from outlook. We focused on using a python package called Pandas to help with data analysis, with importing the text string as csv, then parsing it.
- Discussion points:
- Quickly browsed data frames
- How to split text strings to seperate information
- Required review of data types and information types for Python.
- Made a doodle poll to get feedback and what time works best… It seem it will be Tuesday.

Week 1, Exercise: A simple python script, using interpreter June 3rd
- In this week we reviewed over how to execute python scripts.
- How to start a python interpreter.
- Two important differences between running a script and executing a code in a interpreter
- differences between statements and expressions
- modules and how they are imported and how its attributes are accessed.

Week 2, strings
- what type is used for single characters?
- how do you prevent backslash characters in literal strings from being interpreted specially?
- what keyword do you use to check for the existence of a substring?
- what keyword is used to loop over strings character-by-character?
- how do you extract the last three characters from a string?
- how efficient is repeatedly appending to the end of a string?
